UPS has approximately 100,000 vehicles and operates the world’s ninth largest airline – employing 425,000 individuals in 200 counties.  With this sizable fleet and international presence, their leadership in emission reductions is significant.  UPS continually seeks ways to increase energy efficiency by optimizing package deliveries through facility, aircraft, vehicle and operation upgrades.

They are currently working to repower 92 diesel tugs at its Worldport site in Louisville, KY, eliminating about 85 tons of pollutants.  They are also electrifying 13 airport gates.  They will add 300 Compressed Natural Gas delivery trucks to their fleet and 15 new hybrid electric trucks will join the Louisville fleet.  In addition, UPS partnered with Kentucky Clean Fuels Coalition to install a biodiesel storage and distribution system at Worldport.
